Arabic Medical Terminology Course (Part 2)
This course is designed for Arabic heritage speakers, bilingual professionals, healthcare staff, and interpreter trainees who wish to develop a comprehensive foundation in Arabic medical terminology. Participants will learn common medical terms, diagnoses, procedures, medications, body systems, and patient-provider communication commonly encountered in healthcare settings.
The course consists of four modules delivered over four weeks. One module is released each week, allowing participants to build their knowledge progressively. Participants are expected to complete each module before the next one is released. If additional time is needed, participants may request a one-time, two-week extension at no additional charge, for a maximum course access period of six weeks.
The registration fee for this course is $400 when taken as a stand-alone course outside of the Comprehensive Medical Interpreter Program.
Participants who successfully complete all course requirements may request a Certificate of Completion for this course for an additional $100 certificate fee to be paid separately. To qualify for the certificate, participants must:
-
Complete all course assignments and quizzes.
-
Attend at least one Arabic Practice Session.
-
Successfully complete the Oral Exam at the end of Module 4.
Please note that completion of this course alone does not qualify an individual to work as a professional medical interpreter. This course focuses specifically on Arabic medical terminology and healthcare communication and does not include interpreter ethics, standards of practice, or interpreting skills training covered in the Comprehensive Medical Interpreter Program.
