Why take this course?

It is online and you can join by phone and computer.
Each session is information-intensive and fast-paced.
If you are a new interpreter, or an experienced interpreter who needs a comprehensive review of medical concepts, diseases, procedures and treatments, this course is for you.
For new interpreters, this is an ideal course so you can gain confidence before you jump right into the clinical setting.
Even if you have completed a medical interpreter training program, most programs do not offer comprehensive training in medical concepts. You should take this course if you would like to gain the general knowledge base in medical concepts that medical interpreters should have.

Who is presenting this course?

The Boot Camp is presented by Marlene Obermeyer who designed and conducted the first IMIA Medical Terminology Boot Camp in Boston, and has presented it in different US cities throughout the years. The MT Boot Camp has been very successful in training interpreters and interpreter trainers at the IMIA International Conferences. You can now attend the Boot Camp online.

How do I receive a certificate?

In order to receive a CEU certificate, you need to attend the full session and complete a brief quiz after the session.
There will be a Question and Answer period at the end of each session so you can participate.

Looking forward to having you in the session! Please contact me if you have any questions! Thank you and talk to you soon!
Note: This course is not appropriate for medical interpreter trainers or educators.
