DSHS 467 Respiratory Procedures with Consecutive Interpreting Practice

In this one hour webinar, learn about oxygen therapy, face masks and respirators, mechanical ventilators, in addition to other respiratory devices and procedures.
Develop effective consecutive interpreting strategies while learning about these procedures.
Learning Objectives:
1. Practice consecutive interpreting skills by developing listening and memory skills with information about face mask and respirators, mechanical ventilators, inhalers and nebulizers, oxygen therapy, PFT, bronchoscopy.
2. Practice comprehension skills by explaining the concepts learned in both languages.
3. Self-evaluate your fluency and accuracy by listening to your rendition and using a performance checklist for professional development.
After the webinar, you would be able to complete the consecutive interpreting exercises. You will receive access for 4 weeks. All of the learning activities must be completed within 4 weeks.
NOTE: This CEU activity requires completion of recording of practice sentences in English and in the target language. This gives participants opportunity to look up the equivalent terms in the non-English language so they can practice interpreting more accurately to prepare for interpreting assignments involving these procedures.

Participants need to be able to use the phone and/or computer if located in the US.
There is no refund once registration is processed. You may attend another session or take a CEU course if unable to attend the session.
