Welcome to Part 3 of the Medical Interpreter Program!
There are 4 weeks of lessons.
Week 1: Standards of Practice and Introduction to Medical Interpreting
Week 2: Code of Ethics and Consecutive Interpreting.
Week 3: Clarification Protocols for Accuracy and Role Boundaries
Week 4: Professional Challenges and Roles of the Interpreter
In order to help you develop interpreting skills, the lessons include additional practice in Sight Translation and Consecutive Interpreting to be completed at your own time.
Make sure to attend at least 3 Practice Sessions (required), however, you are strongly encouraged to attend as many sessions as needed to be able to demonstrate the skills for the Final Evaluation.
You will be enrolled for 6 weeks in Part 3, regardless of your Program Plan End Date. This means, that the DUE DATE for Part 3 is 6 weeks from the date you are registered into Part 3. This may not be your Program Plan End Date.
Make sure that you know your End Date, so you can plan your learning time based on your Program Plan End Date.
